I bought these mainly for aviation.. to have non-polarized glasses that can quickly switch between close-up with not much tint, to tinted and unmagnified for my still-good distance vision. With my average sitting height in a Piper Cherokee, the top of instrument panel does go slightly above the line of bifocal, but I would not change it. Because in general use (such as 10 minutes prior, glancing at preflight items, or working at a table) I want less magnification area. The magnification is also missing from the left and right outer lower field of vision. I found this makes them perfect for riding a motorcycle with its low left and right mirrors.
It took a while to get comfortable with using bifocals (at all) but clearly, these are well thought-out and I can’t think of a way to improve on them. The more wraparound shape also reduces back-reflections, as compared to the more open “Osprey" frame glasses.
The glasses are great quality, sturdy and great to wear with a headset. The bi-focal lens In the lower quadrant of the sunglasses lens is too big for my liking and when flying I find the line between the bifocal lens and normal lens distracting as its in my line of sight looking outwards and slightly below. So for me it was an expensive mistake as I cannot wear them while flying in the airline which is the reason I bought them.
Very light and great optics
Staff is absolutely amazing
These sunglasses surpass any other brands I’ve purchased. They are extremely comfortable with my headset as well as great clarity when reading digital screens. They are beyond my expectations.
